Sugam HMS is a desktop hospital management system designed to simplify the day-to-day operations of a clinic. The application brings patient management, doctor management, appointments, billing, medicine inventory, reports, and administrative workflows into a single system.
Taking care of patients, scheduling of appointments, billing of the clinic, medicine inventory management, and maintaining records can all become hard if done through different manual processes. This process aims at developing a system where all these activities can be done conveniently in one application.
Developed a desktop application which is built using Electron and Next.js with TypeScript front-end, SQLite for storing data locally, and Prisma for database ORM. This system is based on the clinic’s workflow, where modules are created for reception, doctors, patients, billing, medicines, reports, and settings.
The program implements a modular approach where Electron powers the desktop environment, Next.js and TypeScript power the interface, Prisma is used for database connectivity, and SQLite is employed for data persistence. The dashboard allows for the visualization of patients, appointments, revenue, stocks, low stocks, and outstanding payments, while specific modules cater to each clinic workflow.
